I Did It! I Ordered My Glasses Online
Why you might take a chance and order your glasses online, too.
By your mid-forties to early fifties, you will need eyeglasses of some variety. I am not trying to scare you. I am just passing on what an optometrist told me. No matter how much technology we develop, there are just basic problem areas on the human body where we can alleviate problems but we have not been able to stop them from happening at all. So, I see glasses, perhaps laser surgery, in your future. Sorry.
If you are lucky, you can get by with “cheaters” for reading. You know, those inexpensive glasses from the dollar store or the drug store. But many of us already wear some sort of prescription eyewear, 65 to 75 percent of American adults according to the Vision Council and Statista. So, it’s no big deal.
I have worn glasses for more than three decades. I have worn cheap glasses, expensive glasses, and contact lenses. I have ordered my frames online and had my local optician insert the prescription lens. But in June I finally took the plunge and ordered several pairs of prescription glasses for less than I usually pay for one pair even with my company’s prescription glasses coverage. I am thrilled.
I am also surprised that I did not give up on this endeavor as I have in the past. A few years…
